Superb waterproof black ink. I still write a few checks and ordinary
non-waterproof ink would not be good for that. Along with the Platinum Carbon
Desk Pen, I ordered a pack of these cartridges and am extremely pleased. The
ink writes VERY black and dries quickly. Although I am not left handed the
quick drying attribute would be a huge plus for those who are.
As for the waterproof aspects of the ink, they are fantastic. I wrote "The
quick brown fox, etc." on a piece of paper, put it in a sink full of water and
left it there. When I came back 15 minutes later, the paper was sodden but the
writing was as crisp and dark as when I wrote it. I then crumpled the paper and
squeezed the excess water from it. When I reopened the paper, the words were
still crisp and dark. In fact, the paper was falling apart but the ink never
did. Having this ink in my Platinum desk pen and stand is a real winner for me.
When I have to jot a quick note the pen is ready to go and the permanency of
the ink allows me to put the note in my breast pocket without having to worry
about smudging or staining my shirt.
This is an excellent pen for the money. The extra fine nib wrote smoothly for
me right out of the box. A reasonably light plastic pocket/purse pen, it fits
perfectly in my small pocketed shirts and stays in place with the addition of a
clip, available separately.
For me, this has become my go-to pen when I'm out and about. It takes short
international cartridges so it's easy to pop an extra cartridge in my pocket
should I run out of ink while away from my desk. As a demonstrator (clear)
model it is easy to determine when a new cartridge may be needed.
The pen writes every time without start-up or skipping issues. As a
pocket/purse pen, it is meant to be used posted and when in that position it is
very comfortable to write with. I have done everything from jotting a quick
note to writing a full letter and my hand never cramps up because of the size or
shape of the pen.
If you are looking for a reliable fountain pen that is compact and easy to take
with you then I highly recommend the Kaweco Classic Sport.
This Kaweco Classic Sport demonstrator has become my go-to pen. For the price,
it is an excellent little pocket or purse pen. Because I wear shirts with
fairly shallow pockets, this pen is ideal because it fits into those pockets
perfectly. I take it everywhere and find it to be an excellent writer. I have
even done the crossword puzzle in my local newspaper with no problems. Ink flow
is good and the line produced is clear. I have no skipping issues with it and
the pen wrote right out of the box with no tweaking of the nib. Once posted,
the pen is a perfect size for writing and very comfortable in the hand. I find
it easy to write full letters with it.
If you are looking for a pen that closes up into a small package but opens to a
full size product then I highly recommend the Kaweco Classic Sport.
I had been looking for an inexpensive fountain pen that I could carry around in
my shirt pocket and the Ohto Rook has proved to be ideal. When posted, it is a
perfect length and feels very comfortable in the hand. My pen wrote smoothly
from the moment it arrived and the ink flow is very good, with no skipping.
While a converter won't fit in the pen, it does take inexpensive short
international cartridges. This has the advantage of being able to carry an
extra cartridge in a pocket or handbag should the pen run out of ink when one is
away from home or office. The aluminum and orange color makes for a striking
look and design.
This is no posh pen but an inexpensive workhorse that happens to look fantastic.
It is just what I wanted as an everyday writer when away from home.
