I love this pen. It writes smoothly, and the ink is a deep, pine green that looks great no matter where I've used the pen. The color is subtle (it doesn't scream "I'm GREEN!") but still looks unique.

This has already become one of my favorite pens -- even compared to many of the high-end fountain pens I also use. (Blasphemy, I know. But these Signo's are just that good.) My Hi-Tech-C pens feel quite scratchy in comparison. Also, my Hi-Tech-C's tend to have ink build up at the tip and then glop onto the beginning of a pen stroke. I've -never- seen that happen with my Signo's. I was quite sorry that I'd put my money into a collection of Hi-Tech-C's before trying these.
Pentel Slicci Gel Ink Pen - 0.4 mm - Black Ink - PENTEL BG204-A

I must have different hands than the other reviewers, but I found the round barrel and the textured grip to be extremely comfortable for long writing sessions. (I have medium hands for a woman.) These pens are manufactured so much better than the Pilot Hi-Tec's. Everything about them is sturdier, especially the tips. No skipping, no scratchy feel, no finicky start-up (I have to shake the Hi-Tec's to get the ink flowing if I haven't used them in a couple of days.) And unlike the Signo's that I've tried, the ink doesn't glop up at the edge of the roller ball.

I am now sorry I invested so much in the Pilot pens -- I wish I'd tried these first.
Pilot Presso Side Knock Mechanical Pencil - 0.5 mm - Blue Body - PILOT HPRS-20R-L

I don't generally write with pencils, but recently I've needed to make fast notes that require constant updates. I tried a couple of pencil brands and settled on this one. The Presso is simple but comfortable, good for daily writing tasks. The lead advances smoothly when needed, and the eraser is generously sized and good quality. (Skimpy erasers that need constant refills are my major gripe about some brands of mechanical pencils.)
Pilot FriXion Color-Pencil-Like Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.7 mm - Black - PILOT LFP-13F-F24
I LOVE these pens. The..., April 2, 2009
I LOVE these pens. The original FriXion are okay, but like other erasable ink pens I've used, the ink has a strange jelly feel. But these new FriXion pens are completely different. I'd never know the ink was erasable without looking at the pen name. The line goes on a bit wet -- kind of like fountain pen ink -- but dries in a second or so. It erases perfectly, and I especially like that the eraser is at the end of the cap. (Btw, it's best to wait until the ink dries before trying to erase. Otherwise, the ink will smudge and you'll work a little longer to get it erased.)

Since I don't like writing with pencil but I make mistakes when I'm writing, these beauties are my new favorite writing tool.

Now -- JetPens needs to get them back in stock, and Pilot needs to make them in 0.5mm!
Pilot FriXion Erasable Gel Ink Pen - 0.5 mm - Black - PILOT LFB-20EF-B

These pens erase beautifully. The ink color is somewhat light (the black actually looks a bit more like pencil than gel ink) but it doesn't have the gooey, sticky consistency that erasable ink pens have had up to now. If you need to erase, it's best until the writing is dry. I have done it immediately after writing a mistake and the ink smudged, becoming a bit difficult to erase completely. But that's a minor detail. These are definitely worth the price.
Ohto Tasche Fountain Pen - Fine Nib - Silver Body - OHTO FF-10T SILVER

I love the visual design and the nib has a nice feel, but I also had problems with skipping ink flow. I took the pen apart and washed the nib section thoroughly in case there had been some manufacturing oils still present. But still no luck. It sits in my "broken pen" pile now.

I've carried one of these for about three years now. It holds a largish set of watercolor pencils and water brushes, along with pigment pens, erasers, blotters and other little gizmos I need for my sketchbook. It's a brilliant design.
