No issues with lead breakage,..., March 15, 2011No issues with lead breakage, smooth consistent lines & color. Like the case &
twist-action cap.

This is a secondary pencil..., March 15, 2011This is a secondary pencil case to take with me when I don't want to carry all
my gear. Fits 4-5 pens/pencils, a 6-inch ruler, and a small compass case, with
room left over for a couple of erasers and lead refills. Good value for the
price.

Been using one of these..., March 15, 2011Been using one of these for about 4 years now, purchased to replace a Pentel
207, and have been mostly happy with it. The retraction/clip mechanism was novel
to me, but now seems useful in terms of making dual purpose of two
already-existing items (the lead advance also extends the guide pipe ; the clip
acts as the lock mechanism, and then releases the guide pipe to retract - solid
spring action).
The lead hardness indicator requires partial disassembly of the body to adjust & then some practice/patience to get the body screwed back together without the setting moving out of place. |

Good pencil for general/occasi..., March 15, 2011Good pencil for general/occasional use. The metal grip/tip vs plastic body makes
the weight unbalanced towards the front (which some people may like), but the
plastic is a good solid sturdy plastic. Two minor dislikes : the end cap & clip
come off rather easily, making them and/or the pencil easy to lose.

Has a good solid (but..., March 15, 2011Has a good solid (but not heavy) feel in the hand, smooth action on the lead
feed mechanism, fine adjustment of the amount of lead advance amount using the
knob on the back near the eraser cap. The clip is not obtrusive and has smooth
edges, and the knurling on the grip is fine and smooth, with no sharp edges. A
pleasure to use.
Only (minor) detractor is that the screw cap for the lead hardness indicator can be a little bit of a pain to take off at first (I ended up using the edge of a t-shirt to get additional grip on the hex-star pattern without tearing my fingers apart to get it open). I used a little graphite on the screw threads and haven't had any issues since. |
