You can get similar sets of these erasers in the US from Target for under $2. I
got a biscuit, ice cream cone, cupcake, birthday cake, donut and popsicle stick
for less than $1.50 (with tax). The erasers flake a bit when handling. I got
them purely for their looks, so I don't plan on using them as erasers.
I have to say, I was not impressed with this pen. I could have picked up the 301
(same 0.7 size) in my local Office Max, but I wanted a retractable pen.
Unfortunately this pen felt bulky and awkward in my hand and the ink was
scratchy, IMHO. I ended up giving the pen away to a coworker who said he liked
it. For the price, this pen was too expensive for how little it performed.
I love the ability to chose the type of sharpening this gadget performs on any
standard size pencil you try. I have had no problems with it's ability to
sharpen, so far.
However, after using this sharpener only a handful of times, it no longer closes
when you turn the dial to close. To close it you have to open up the back of the
shavings and tug at the small white arm that releases the white trap door. Also,
because the door doesn't close on it's own (and I didn't realize that for a
week) the shavings spill out a bit. Good thing I had this tucked in my paperclip
and eraser pouch! Even so, this guy got pencil fuzz/dirt all over him. I
typically keep my things very neat, organized and above all else CLEAN, so this
was a shock to find when I went to use it.
I love the way this pen writes. The ink is smooth and I haven't have a problem
with it smearing. I bought this and the light blue pen at the same time from
JetPens and both quickly became favs.
However, the barrel of both pens appear stained after normal wear and storage. I
(like you if you are reading this) am a pen/stationary aficionado. I always
cap/unclick my pens/pencils when storing and periodically clean my storage
pouches (a bit like in the movie Amelie). So the discoloration would not have
occurred from a messy pen case or someone else using it with dirty fingers.
I love the way this pen writes. It has been one of my fav pens since I bought it
here on JetPens. Personally, I also love the 'knock' style (the way the pen
clicks) too. However, the barrel of this pen is getting discolored. I never
leave pens or pencils in my pocketbook uncapped or open, so I do not see how
this is occurring. I can only assume that typical storage is the problem. I love
the color of this pen (bright and cheery) but may have to buy a dark colored
barrel to avoid the discoloration.
Overall- pretty excellent. When this is in stock here on JetPens, I usually get
a couple packs because it is that good. Creamy and beautiful light shade of
Light blue is non-repro. I have used this for sketches and my lines do not show
up in a black and white copier. I supposed one could use a color copier and this
might show up, but I have not tried it.
I do have *some* breakage when I use this lead in my Pentel GraphGear 1000.
However, when I use it in my Uni Kuru Toga automatic pencil I have not noticed
breakage. I wish they offered it in a 0.7, they don't so I have to go with Pilot
Color Eno Mechanical Pencil Lead - 0.7 mm - Soft Blue for heavier lines.
This is my fav brush pen. I have tried more expensive brush pens, but this one
has everything I like! It is compact, glides across the page effortlessly and is
responsive to the pressure I apply to it. It does fine and thicker lines very
nicely for me (I may have a heavy hand though). I would highly recommend it. I
have already bought several, and have even given them away as gifts!
I bought this in green. I must say- I still cannot believe how much it holds- A
TON! I thought I needed a larger pen case to cram all of my pens, pencils, lead
holders, erasers and such throughout the day. I was wrong. This almost holds too
much to stuff into my work bag. I did not try putting pencils in the bag as I
did not want to mark the fabric and/or my other writing instruments. I do like
this bag for an all purpose stuff everything in it now and sort it out later
bag.... I am just too overwhelmed by all it carries and have trouble remembering
all that I have in it. (That's probably just me)
