I really don't find the rattling annoying. I love the color and how incredibly
smooth the writing experience is. I also have this in Black and Blue (and a
Blue in .5mm which I found at Kinokuniya) and they all write really well.
Perfect pens to pair with a pocket notebook like Field Notes or Doane Paper.
I just got some of these from JetPens. I can't explain why but I love the
ruling on this paper. I tend to write in the grid and ignore the line ruling,
which works great if you are using a microtip gel or ballpoint. My Jetstream
.7mm (which writes like a .5mm gel) works great. I also tried some F/XF
fountain pens on this paper and it performs surprisingly well (a smidge of
showthrow but not terrible like Moleskine).
I got this for my Fisher Space Pen to replace the black refill it came with.
This writes a lot smoother to me than the thicker refill. The line is
consistent and I like the color. I also think the line thickness is perfect for
a pocket notebook like a Moleskine or a Field Notes.
They are a bit thicker than regular Field Notes and don't stay shut. I use a
tiny binder clip to keep it closed and I like the way it looks. While Fountain
Pens work with this particular paper used in this edition, I still think all
Field Notes do better with gels, pencils and ballpoints. I also love the green
color of the ruling. Very dignified.
