Pencil came with lots of small little dots and scratches, but I believe this is
normal. Pencil feels slightly cheap; metal parts seem flimsy as if they were
plastic spray-painted with chrome color. Grip is fantastic! Perfect texture and
feel for writing. Shaker mechanism and such are very great but the lead
mechanism could have been more solid (a good standard for which I compare is
Overall a tad expensive for what it is. But the grip is awesome.
Build quality is superb in fit and finish, metal parts throughout with no feel
of cheapness or play. Barrel has a nice finish and the grip is the shinier but
slightly firmer alpha-gel grip. Refills are the usual Jetstream: great inkflow,
decently smooth. However I'd say that the pen is overpriced and not really worth
I purchased this fantastic looking pen case in camel brown. It is of utmost
quality with excellent leather, soft lining, great zipper, and overall great
attention to detail. It can hold about 4 medium sized pens; it wasn't designed
to hold lots of writing implements. I put a Sharp Kerry Pencil, Lamy Studio
fountain pen, G2 Limited gel pen, and a Dr. Grip Offroader snugly. However, I do
expect a little more "something" for the price. Nonetheless it is an excellent,
high quality pen case.
Terrible for $15. Absolute JUNK. The writing performance was scratchy at best
and felt like rubbing a stick against gravel. Scritch scratch scritch scratch.
This cannot compare to my TWSBI Diamond 530, My Lamy Safari/Al-Star, my Lamy
2000, MB 149, Pilot VP, Sheaffer PFM, Parker Sonnet, etc. in terms of... well
everything. The pen feels cheap as the build construction and threading for
barrel are plastic-y. It is easily dented and damaged and basically I expected a
bit more for $15. You might think that the pens I compare it to are $40+/$120+
but at least they work it out for their price points in trim, looks, feel, and
writing performance. I'd rather take a Pilot Varsity or some other disposable
than this pile of pure crap. I have lost all my faith in Ohto.
Pen does not write - may blame the packaging since there was none for this pen
and so feed may be broken. Nib bends and breaks easily & pen seems to be built
cheaply (even for $3). Cannot compare with Varsity.
