I received this as a gift from my daughter as an early Father's Day and it is now my work horse. Although I own a plethora of fountain pens, the size, smooth nib, and look make this my carry-with-me pen. Excellent pen and a step up from the excellent Pilot Metropolitan.

This update of the Coleto pen body made an impression when I showed it to co-workers and my students. It seems to have a little more substance despite its plastic body, and has a classy appearance.

Okay, I just got my Pilot Penmanship and after using it for some notes today, well let's just say this pen is reporting for heavy duty. I am going to have to buy a couple more simply to put some other inks in it for visual notetaking purposes. Yes, I still love my Hi-Tec-C Coleto and Uni-Ball Signo UM-138 and UM-131 0.4 mm, but for an inexpensive fountain pen, well, this definitely works.
I will see what happens when I put in the converter and use my Herbin and Diamine inks, but as for now, this is a great entry level pen...or for me, a great daily pen without the nervousness of losing an expensive pen or one of my students (I have an increasing number of pen geeks around me) deciding to "find" my pen.

I am not sure why there are any negative reviews on this pen. It is fan-tas-tic! If the ink is a bother, get the converter (I did) and get your own ink (I did) and love your pen even more. Converter fill up took two minutes (probably less but I wanted to be careful).
I have the extra fine nib and this pen has become my standard go-to for my journal and I think I am going to have to have another one for my work notebook.
I do wish Lamy would have a different color for the end of the converter, but that is not even close to a deal breaker. I recommend this pen to anyone looking for not a starter pen but also a good day-to-day pen.

Staedtler Triplus Fineliners are easily among my favorite, especially for grad school and lecture note taking. Sketch note takers: if you want to add color to your work, these are ideal. I purchased these from Blick's, but am glad Jet Pens are carrying them as I have only seen them on the shelf once in a year and I need to get some more. Oh, I especially like that I can leave the cap off for a long duration...I have had them open to the air for three or four hours and they are ready for use. I do not review many products...but these are well worth the price!
