It feels nice to write with, but the line it puts down is rather watery and
faded; if you draw a line really quickly, it will also skip a bit (noticeable
when I try to underline or circle things). The case also looks rather lame. I
think the pen bodies for the 0.4mm version are much better, so even if you want
to use a 0.7mm tip, I'd switch the cartridges (they fit).
For a $3.00 mechanical pencil, this thing is simply awesome. Given it's low
price tag, I don't see a good reason for anyone not to order this thing, even if
it's just for novelty. It even looks awesome. Excellent value for money.
Personally, I find this pencil much more comfortable to hold than the Uni KT
High Grade. The grip and size is more or less perfectly suited to my liking.
Mechanism works, but definitely preferable for more heavy handed writers because
it requires a little push to get it working. However, the excellent design of
this pen's body makes that seem like much less of a chore than the other
versions if you're not used to it.
If you're getting a KT, I would recommend this one.
Just wanted to add something after using this pen for a while: this is my
favourite pen, and I have a lot of good stationery (Jetstreams, Signos and other
reputedly good stuff). It is incredibly good looking and above all, it writes
excellently. It is nicely weighted and comfortable to hold; at first I thought
it would be difficult to use for extended of periods of time given that it's
thin and made of metal. I was wrong. It is not overly heavy at all and the
excellent balance of the pen ensure that it is not exceeding uncomfortable (see
my last post though; the cap should be taken off when writing).
Again, highly recommend buying this. Easily worth the $15.
Nice pen in almost every way, except it smudges easily and takes considerable
time to try. It's not a big deal, but it just irritates me. If you've used a
Signo 207 before, then this is quite similar, except with a much nicer finish
and an awesome grip.
I have to say, this one doesn't look anywhere near as cool as the black one. It
doesn't detract from the quality of the pen, which is about as good as you can
get for $2.25, just thought I'd put it out there.
Excellent pen for only $2.25. I'd definitely pick one up if you're ordering from
this site and haven't tried one before. One point of preference I'd like to add:
I tried the blue jetstream ink in my 'Style Fit' and it looks nicer than black,
in my opinion. That's probably just my taste, though. Either way, you won't go
wrong with this one.
Nice construction. Should note though, it works better if you like writing with
your hand higher up the pen (given the positioning of the grip). It is quite
heavy, but most of this is concentrated at the bottom due to the grip, so it's
actually not very noticeable when you're writing. Considerably thick due to the
grip obviously, so if you like slim pens, you might want to think about that
(squeezing the grip can sorta make it feel like it's not as thick as it is,
though). In any case, I don't find the dimensions of the pen to bother me at
all. Ink is nice, of course.
I doubt you will be disappointed with the quality of the pen as a whole, just be
careful that it suits your writing preferences. That being said, it's nothing
you can't get used to. I bought a large range of pens recently and this is my
favorite ballpoint, so I recommend it.
