These two pencils are pretty good for their price point. The grip is a
combination between slippery plastic and not very tactile rubber. If you have
sweaty hands it may not be enjoyable but the grip is large which helps. The clip
is not very removable which i personally do not like because i cannot rotate the
This pencil is great for precise writing (ex. writing on beakers for chem labs).
I wish the grip was a little bit bigger but that is probably because i have
large hands (i can palm a basketball easily). The plastic seems to be durable
and i hope so as the grip is attached to the barrel with plastic threads :S Even
though i do not use the lead grade indicator i would like to point out that it
moves easily and i don't feel like it is high quality.
Overall i think that this pencil is 4 stars because for 3 dollars more you can
have a Staedtler 925 25 03 which is an all metal body and bigger grip. It will
however be heavier which may not be what you want.
This pencil is rock solid! The grip is slightly wider than a rotring 600 or 500
which to me is a very good thing. The outside is all aluminum and provides an
ideal balance point for me (around the middle). I wish the grip would be a
little wider and longer but it is still very tactile and i know it will not
slip. The small eraser is standard to all drafting mech. pencils and it came
with a pin in it to clear jams.
Overall I think that this is a very plain and precise pencil. Exactly what it
should be in my mind. It does not distract me and i don't worry about it failing
when writing. Its just an extension of my hand, ready to take on any math or
science problem. The price is even lower than its competitors (rotring 600,
platinum pro use 1500, etc)
This is a very solid, drafting style pencil. My Teacher dropped it today and the
cap became very loose. However i was able to pinch it tight and now its fine.
The grip is a lot larger than any other pencil i have held and personally, as i
have big hands (i can palm a basketball), I really like it. It is not my
favorite though, as it is just a little to short for my large hands. Out of my
collection of well tested pencils, i'd say that this is 2nd after the Staedtler
925 25 05, although the quality of both is the same. If the tip is taking care
of i could see this lasting me a lifetime.
Really solid pencil. 5 stars for the precision and quality.
