Completely AWESOME! Ok, let me clarify that a little better...the 0.7mm, the
0.5mm and the 0.3mm are just amazing instruments to write with. I bought the
four pack on a whim, wanting to try out the different nib sizes. The only reason
I'm not a huge fan of the 0.1mm is it just looks too frail and the line is a
little weak in output...but it is only 0.1mm.
As for the rest of the pack, if you want a commanding stroke of pitch black ink
and you want it to remain on your paper until the paper rots (according to the
manufacturer) these pens are amazing. There is a slight amount of drying time
one you put the pen to paper, but once the ink is dry you're good to go.
Personally, I think they need to make a "pretty version" of this pen as the
0.7mm tip is amazing at signatures!
Ok, let me start out by saying this is my very first fountain pen ever and I
went solely by the reviews here and the recommendation of JetPens
With that being said, I really like this fountain pen. The triangular shaped
body is awesome and I wish more pens were shaped like this as it is just a dream
to hold. Having held a pen like this, I don't want to go back to a round one.
The black body of the pen is very nice, even though I feel the red fins on the
cap are a little overstated (I'm more of a fan of the color blue).
As this is my first fountain pen, it took a bit of playing to get used to. You
do not mash down on this pen as you would with a ballpoint or gel pen. I did
that and ended up marring the paper on the upstroke. After just randomly
doodling for about 5-10 min, I found the perfect pressure and the ink just flows
freely and without skipping even across cheap paper. I'm looking forward to
using the converter and trying other inks on better paper.
My only gripe and it has nothing to do with the pen itself...I wish I had gone
with the slightly broader nib. The line out of this pen is extremely fine. Along
the lines of my 0.4mm Hi-Tec-C, but way smoother of a line as you run it across
the paper. I am, however finding that it is making me slow down and enjoy
writing with it more and more, every time I use it.
I was amazed with this pencil when I saw it. I ordered the pencil from JetPens
and was so looking forward to using it based on the Rotring name alone. Shocked
and disappointed with this pencil is more like it.
I had the pencil for just over a week when one day leaving work, I was on the
phone and walking out of the foyer of my office with a handful of my tablet, my
portable hard drive and a roll of drawings, along with my Rotring. I said to
myself, "Why don't I put the pen in my shirt pocket so that's one less thing to
carry." I squeeze my phone between my shoulder and ear, grab the pencil with my
now free hand, attempt to put it in my shirt pocket and miss. Much to my
surprise the pencil hits the tile floor and breaks completely in two! The red
joint between the two halves is just plastic and it snapped right in half. That
is unacceptable for a pencil of this caliber and price. If you buy this aluminum
pencil...prepare to baby it.
