This is my second Zebra Expandz and its only because the pen color (light blue)
was suited more for my wife. The black is a bit more masculine. I enjoy
carrying the Expandz clipped to my front pants pocket right next to my AA Cree
flashlight. They are a perfect match for those of us who are minimalist EDC
My preference of ink is blue. I did switch the original black ink which came
with this pen over to blue ink. You might want to order a refill
If you like to streamline your typical everyday carry, this is the pen for you.
The pen has a good "weight" to it and is not sloppy in it movement. You won't
be disappointed. Go for it!
I haven't had the Hard Lock pen too long, but my initial impression is that it
will do a great job for my purposes. As a teacher (math and shop), I like to
switch ink colors throughout the day and am looking forward to EDCing only one
pen in lieu of 4 different pens.
In the same order from JetPens.com, my purchase included a Uni-ball multi 4+1.
The jetstream ink in the latter is more impressive, but the Hard Lock Pen ink is
fine as well. As another posting suggested, the inks can be switched so that
jetstream ink; can fit into the Hard Lock. My typical writing requirements
aren't too intense so I'll just use the original Hard Lock ink for now.
In the future, I'll likely switch out to jetstream ink. Regarding durability,
my concern is that I'll sit on the pen and crush it. That's not the fault of
the pen. Rather, my stupidity will cause this to occur! The Hard Lock latch is
definitely a great attribute for those who don't like their writing utensils
flopping around on their shirt (blouse, apron, etc...).
Your only debate at this stage for the Hard Lock Uni-ball should be your color
choice. Blue is my choice because I like blue! ENJOY!!!!!
GREAT JOB JetPens.com. It truly is 'Love at First Write'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After much deliberation, I decided to try the Uni-ball Jetstream 4 & 1. The
blue body was my choice. When I finally went to place an order, the blue body
was sold out. I came to the website the next day to choose another color and
low and behold blue was available again! I snagged the last one and now I'm
seeing this blue body is unavailable. Hopefully, JetPens.com will be able to
stock this multi-writing utensil again because it is wonderful. As a school
teacher, I'm constantly switching between different colors of pens and on
occasion I like to have a pencil available. THIS IS THE PERFECT FIT FOR ME.
The uniball jetstream ink is the way to go. During the same order, I also got
another uniball multipen which doesn't have the jetstream ink. It is also a
fine writing tool, but jetstream ink is superb.
The only downfall I am personally having is utilizing the pencil feature. It
ticks me off because my wife immediately knew how to click and advance the lead.
Usually I'm the one that has to show her. It's funny to her, but I just need
to practice a bit. I can't blame Uni-ball for this since my wife is able to get
it to work. No doubt, this multi-writing tool deserves a full five star
If you have any question as to whether or not to get this style, don't second
guess the decision any longer. GET IT>>>GET IT>>>GET IT NOW>>>> (While you're
at it, you might want to grab some refills)
Thanks for the great service to JetPens.com and USPS.
