Unless you truly understand pencils and the lead used to produce the lines,..you cannot understand nor appreciate just how spectacular these pencils are. From the minute I placed the point to paper and stroked a line from left to right, I was stunned at the buttery smooth and extremely intense red pigment that took command of the stark white background of the parchment. This pencil is a serious pencil for those serious about their work.

This will be my new sketch pencil. I can create a soft line when I so wish and then follow up with a crisp and intense (ink-like) colored stroke at the slightest bit of pressure.

I have a proverbial graveyard of failed pencils that were filled with such promise and hope and I can assure you that THIS pencil will never see that pile.

I can see this pencil benefiting teachers across America as well.

Warning: This lead will not erase very easily (another great reason to use it for grading) but I imagine if pressed one could "lighten" the intensity if armed with the appropriate rubbing compound.

Does anyone know if this exact lead is available in 2mm size or .07mm size for clutch and mechanical pencils?

This is a diamond in the rough. This dynamo can really give you a line variation that rivals some of the finest brushes out there. It has more of a squishy type of tip, BUT with some care and patience, it does afford you the ability to get those wonderful brush strokes in the convenience of a disposable pen. Don't look past this brush when you are trying out brush pens for the first time as it will surprise you with its' abilities.

I like the pen when you first start using it and the super slick and thick line it lays down is really nice. But it seemed just after a week of using it,...it would have a tendency to skip a bit. Kind of disappointing in that regard.

This ink offered high hopes for me until I tried it. It feathers like a peacock on my illustration board! Cannot use this for anything! Very disappointed as this stuff was not cheap. Down the drain it goes.

Now that I converted this pen into an eye dropper, the feed behaves marvelously and the ink flows without hesitation.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

These ArtPens have been around awhile; and for good reason. These pens do what they do really well and are very reliable. They put down a wet line and do not skip at all. The 1.5mm allows for some nice variance in line thickness when used as a sketching tool.

Now that I have found a reliable way to make these pens refillable,.....they are perfect! The line it produces is amazingly close to that of a real brush; which is quite a feat for a felt tipped pen! The point always snaps back to a nice crisp one and it always remains juicy wet when producing the heaviest of lines! It's incredible. You can get a real fine line if you treat the pen with care. It's wonderful now that it can be refilled with any ink that I want!

This has replaced my Uni Kuru Toga rotating lead pencil as my new favorite. Basically the rotating lead seemed to start failing me after a year and the benefit was lost. So with that, I pulled out my Uni-Shift that I never even tried previously and realized that I had been bowing down to the Henchman rather than the King this past year. This Uni Shift Pipe Lock pencil is a fantastic tool and designed intelligently. I ordered this White model last week and after trying it today, I was not disappointed! Now I have two of these great instruments.

The pencil is solid and there are no loose parts to complain about. If I had a wish, I would love to see a 100% metal version of this pencil. I love the fact that when not in use, I can close the pencil so that the tip is hidden away and protected as I can be very clumsy at times.

I use this for all of my rough drafts and brain storms in my cartooning efforts.

This little Titan of a pen surprised me! The range on it is pretty remarkable starting at a really thin line to a medium-broad. Very nice! Refilling it seems easy enough and allows for a longer use than just once,....so long as the tip holds out. I really like it and will keep it for travel.

This pencil seemed too short when it arrived,....but there is just something about it that the moment it is in my hand, I feel at peace with my drawing! It's a marvelous pencil with a nice weight and girth about it. I removed the clip because I love the streamlined look to it. I do NOT share this pencil with anyone. It's THAT good!

If they ever offer a taller one with the same shape and girth,...it will be the ultimate pencil. This one is pretty darn close to perfection.
