Great pen for everyday..., February 25, 2011Great pen for everyday use. Ink is smooth and dark and the pen glides
effortlessly over paper. It smells a little like a Sharpie, but I don't mind.
It's cheap too!

I've been using these..., November 12, 2010I've been using these Sharpies for a few years. The point is sturdy, and makes
for an enjoyable writing experience. The slight stickiness of the felt tip makes
my penmanship really nice. The only problems are that 1) they have that
distinctive chemical-like Sharpie odor which can be pretty off-putting and 2)
they bleed through all but the thickest of pages. It's not the sexiest pen in
the world, but it's actually pretty good.

I love this pen. It is..., November 10, 2010I love this pen. It is beautifully balanced, writes smoothly (but not too
smoothly) and is very pleasing to look at. I've owned it for over a year and it
has held up beautifully.

It really pains me to..., October 22, 2010It really pains me to do this. I have been admiring this pencil for almost a
year and last week I finally got one and I was so excited. I really wanted to
love this pencil! And it does have some really cool features. It's a great
looking pencil and it definitely has the cool factor--several people have asked
me what kind of pencil I was using, and the reactions I got when I explained the
mechanism of this pencil were great. Unfortunately, the utility of the kuru
mechanism depends on how you write. If you write in short frequent strokes it's
great. It's probably also perfect for those writing Japanese characters. But for
cursive writers--not so much. For the mechanism to work, you have to frequently
lift the tip of the pencil off the page--each time you do that, the lead
rotates. Unfortunately for me, I connect many of my letters and the lead
therefore doesn't get a chance to rotate that much. So I end up having the same
problem with this pencil as all the others--unevenly worn lead and breakage.
Bummer.

The Pros: This eraser..., October 20, 2010The Pros: This eraser is super kawaii. It comes in great colors and looks like a
tube of lip balm. It's also just generally a great design--you can twist out
only as much eraser as you need, and the eraser has really useful points and
edges that help with precision erasing.
The Cons: It's all form and no function. The eraser doesn't erase well and leaves smudges. It also tends to accumulate a lot of eraser shavings on the tip which detract from its precision, and are also just generally a pain to pick off. |
