It's much, much better. This pen is Solid, Tough, and the converter holds a
massive amount of ink. I'm in the Army and this Pen goes to the field with me.
Tight fitting screw on cap works every time. Although it is solid and has
weight, it does not make the trade off to bulk. Although the Barrel is larger
than your average fountain pen, it still fits in the pen sleeves on my uniform
and does not inhibit my writing. The Nib is labelled EF, I find it closer to a
japanese Medium, but not quite.
I'm using the CON-50 with my Pilot Duo and a Pilot 77 Muyrex, works like a
dream, fits well, no leaks. I love it. Personally I prefer it over the Con 20
with the Sac refill. Not sure what the issue with Cavalliers is, but I think my
Duo has the same physical dimensions and works great.
I am addicted to fine stationery, and although not normally a needle point sort
of fellow, this pen is amazing.
It has some heft to it, its not a light plastic thing that's going to break on
you. The weight of it feels wonderful in your hand.
You can also get some serious mileage out of the ink cartridges. I write at
least 5 to 6 letters a week, usually three pages long. I've had mine for 3
months now, and I just had to change the cartridge today.
I actually cruised over here to buy another one of these pens for the wife.
