These are terrific. I appreciate the shorter length. I still carry a different pen for my Moleskine day planner because I'm afraid that the ink from these pens might show through the paper, but I have enjoyed using them for shopping lists and such.

This is a nice bag, but I have a few problems with it. First and most significantly, it is too big for me to carry comfortably into a store - it is big enough that I'm afraid the security people would be worried about me. :) Where I live, in the D.C. area, stores get nervous about people who come in with big bags. I wish that this one were just two-thirds or three-quarters of its size. Second, there's no padded pocket that accommodates my iPhone 6 Plus. There is an unpadded pocket that will let me carry the phone on its side, but I don't feel comfortable about that - there's no way to secure the phone into the pocket. I want to carry it vertically so it won't be as likely to fall out. Given that the phone costs ten times more than the bag, I don't think that's unreasonable. Third, I can't get the straps short enough to let me carry the bag any way other than cross-body. It is much less obvious if I can just carry the bag under one shoulder. It's also a little awkward having to adjust both sides of the strap instead of being able to adjust one side and then slide the shoulder pad to fit. Bottom line - neat idea, but I wish I had not bought the bag. I bought it because the Nomadic bags are just so "neat," but I should have let this one slide.

This backpack gets top marks on nearly every score. It is comfortable for my 5'5" frame, holds everything I need, the weight is balanced nicely, it's unobtrusive, well-made, I love the bright orange lining and the well-thought-out array of pockets, including the "lunch compartment" down below. "A place for everything and everything in its place," and I can find it all! There are three frustrations. It sorely needs a very sturdy grab handle; it is not configured to stand upright on its own; and the water bottle pocket is a very tight fit for American 16-oz. water bottles. The chest strap is a little funky-looking and I removed it.
