I did buy this set for a three-year-old, but both of us use the crayons. The
color can be spread smoothly even on cheap paper, with fewer unexpected bumps
and clots than Crayola wax crayons may have. The range of colors is great for a
small set, and stray marks do come off well with a bit of water. (So far:
painted wall, painted wood chair, veneer window blinds.) My child "likes" the
thickness of the individual crayons: they haven't broken yet despite some
This bag is awesome, with secure stitching and well-designed pockets. I take it
to work, sometimes with my 13" Thinkpad laptop wedged in, and then I pick up my
child from daycare: Wise-Walker on back, toddler in an Ergo carrier on front.
Thus the Wise-Walker serves as purse, diaper bag, and general carrier of small
work items. It's slightly too narrow to zip around a letter-sized manila folder,
but if the weather is good one can leave the zipper partly open. I love the
size, regardless: it holds what I need, keeps my hands free, and discourages me
from packing unnecessary things. The thoughtful little pocket for a transit card
is exactly right.
I really like the semi-opaque white body. It has a slightly softer feel than the
original Petit1, which was a hard plastic all over; this one is a bit friendlier
to the touch. I ordered one without any ink cartridges, in hopes that my old
Petit1 cartridges would work with it, and they do!
The Coleto body and the ten-color refill set are the only cost-effective way to
use the excellent Hi-Tec-C ink and pen-tip. I love them. If only the refills
came in some of the rarer colors (they're available only as standalone pens, but
it's a waste of plastic...).
Well, for me this pen is definitely *not* better than the Hi-Tec-C. The ink
seems a bit watery somehow, or perhaps I'm influenced by the unexpected color.
For "emerald" I thought it'd be a bit darker.... It writes fairly smoothly, but
I actually prefer the Hi-Tec-C's grip and nib.
It took me a moment to realize how to load this pen. Once I found the little
flip-top cap and opened it, everything went smoothly. I like having two colors
(and two different nib sizes!) available in the same barrel, and it's great to
have a blue-black refill, which JetPens doesn't seem to carry for the regular
