Agreed with some of the other reviews that the pen writes wider than you'd
think. My F nib writes like a M, but the pen is nice. Sort of wish I would
have gone with the EF nib but was turned off of doing so by the review there.
This criticism is a style preference, as the pen itself comes as promised and
delivers expected performance. It doesn't feel cheap and appears to be a hearty
pen for a fountain style. I like the color, which is a yellow mustard. Love it
and great pen for the purchase price. (Sells for about $10 more at retail
This pen was a real pleasure to start using. I was first struck by the slightly
rubberized texture of the body of the pen, which lends towards both a
comfortable grip and nice control feel. No trouble with the cap staying on the
end as you write. The instrument is a lightweight fountain pen and came writing
smoothly right out of the mailer. Noted, however, that it is having a hard time
keeping up ink-wise on the larger swoops of my writing. That said, it's new and
it is not dragging or scratching. Writes like a fine nib in my opinion. This
will definitely find a great general use slot in my collection. The color is
fun and appealing, well represented in the accompanying image by JetPens. I am
satisfied at the price and will very likely purchase another.
Another fun pen (along with the orange). Unique and sophisticated. I love the
Dr. Grip 4+1 series. The 0.7 mm ballpoint is perfect and I have yet to have any
problem caused by smearing or smudging. If anything, you'll have a problem when
you discover you ran out of ink!
I have all of the pens in the two series, and this one is by far the most "fun"
one of the bunch for me (followed by the lime green). A completely versatile
pen that never leaves you fumbling for another color ink in an edit or technical
drawing with a pencil to boot. This one does show that it's more plastic than
some of the others, but to be expected from the photo. Unique: I have yet to
have this one swiped from me at work.
By far my favorite color of either the first or second series. This matte black
version is a home run in the Pilot Dr. Grip 4+1 pens. It's well balanced and
feels spectacular. The matte finish makes this one of the best looking versions
of this model. You'll feel like you got a pen worth at least twice the price.
The versatility is second to none in any field where you have to make notations
or edits. Note: buy plenty of extra ink refills in the colors you think you'll
use the most.
I love this entire series of multi-pens, which I became acquainted with while
living in Tokyo. This blue is a classic and fits in any professional setting.
I have a hard time keeping colleagues from snatching them away. Be sure to buy
several ink refills, as you'll go through blue and black quickly. For my work,
it's exceptionally handy to be able to switch colors to make notes and edits on
work. A wonderful writing utensil that is comfortable and well balanced. A
great deal for the price.
