Had this pen for at least..., February 10, 2012
By lol...
Had this pen for at least a year now. I'm not brutal with my keys as such, but
the Penpod has held up without breaking off or cracking! Usually carry a pen in
my bag, but when I forget, this little guy has spared me from having to use
*gasp* public pens that every unwashed hand has already touched! ;) Just used it
yesterday at the doctor's office and kinda wish I had more than one set of keys
so I had a ready excuse to get it in other colors. Definitely too small for
extended writing. Remember to pop the pen securely back in the spring-loaded
cap.

Smooth & Fine! Just what..., February 10, 2012
By bev...
Smooth & Fine! Just what I was looking for. I favor the Japanese standard for
Fine (this writes finer than the German Lamy & Kaweco Extra Fine nibs). This is
my new favorite pen. The size and weight are small and light, which is also what
I prefer. The pen width and grip is comfortable. The cap is airtight & has a
soft click to it. And I love the classy Slate Gray color! I just may get another
one in a different color...
Like the other reviewer mentioned the ink output on my pen was originally very
light so I also spread the tines ever so slightly with a plastic report cover
and the flow is perfect now.

By jordanr1186
So far, Rhodia pads are the nicest I have seen. The cover is probably the best
part because it folds behind, which is perfect because I am left handed and
can't stand when a spine is hard to keep open. The paper is very nice and the
lines are very sharp, unlike other filler paper which has blurry lines. I will
be buying the 10 pack next time as I now know I love these. Thanks JetPens!

This is a very elegant and minimalist roll case. I like the fabric, it feels
great. I managed to fit a ruler, 4 roll pens, 2 pencils and 1 sharpie and I'm
still able to roll the case without it looking overstuffed. If you plan to stash
your desk in this, you might find that real estate is limited.

By youngjustice
This paper has a very smooth feel that is great for taking notes and general
writing. It feels thin but holds up well to repeated erasing and does not show
through too much on the back. I have been using it for pencil and gel pen notes
and both slide nicely across the paper.
The papers are very well secured in the binding and even with much folding open
of the book they don't seem to budge at all. I am not sure what they actual did
with the binding, it appears to be glued in folded sheets, but it is hard to
see. Regardless, it is very secure. I will definitely be buying these again.

I was extremely excited..., February 9, 2012
By lum...
I was extremely excited about this pen upon its arrival. I immediately tested it
out and was somewhat disappointed because the ink was skipping or just wouldn't
write. I continued writing with it more, on various surfaces including a pad of
papers, hoping that the ink would be more continuous and heavy and finally the
pen started performing! I love its classy look, its size and dependability. It
may be a mini pen at only 4 1/2 inches long, but is surely going to be my go to
pen.

This is a fantastic bag,..., February 9, 2012
By aliera
This is a fantastic bag, but comes short of perfection for me:
Pros:
-LOTS of little compartments- great for holding small gadgets, keeps things from
getting scratched
-Bright orange liner- easy to find things, even in dim light
-Sturdy "handle" bit at the top- useful for hanging the bag on hooks
-Hidden wallet pocket is a nice touch. It's on the side.
-Durable, rainproof material keeps everything dry.
-Bag is great using both straps or just over one shoulder.
-Exceptionally light for size
-Compact, yet still holds a lot
Cons:
-The lunch compartment (bottom portion of the backpack in the front), if empty
it has trouble standing on it's own- this bad always has to be leaning against
something
-tends to be a little top heavy unless you use the lunch compartment, which I
don't often.
-minor con- sometimes zippers can get slightly caught on the rain protection
flaps, but that rarely happens
Overall it's a great bag and I don't regret buying it, but I wish it was just a
tiny bit better. And yet this is by *far* better than the generic, heavy, huge
compartment backpacks that are so common here, so I probably can't complain too
much.

AWESOME pen. I deliberated..., February 9, 2012
By dan...
AWESOME pen. I deliberated over buying a $15 pen (I see the price has gone up
since then) but nothing beats having 4 ink colors (smooth-writing gel ink, no
less) plus a pencil and eraser, all in one instrument. For meetings, noting
things in my planner, etc. I just grab my trusty pen and go. Plus, it looks
cool, so you make a better impression in meetings, interviews, etc. than you can
with a 99-cent cheapo pen.
Downsides:
1. It's thick and grippy, which feels great in the hand but makes it unsuitable
for my planner pen loop. Easily solved, though--I hang the pen from the loop by
the clip instead.
2. Since I use this pen almost exclusviely now, I run through lots of inks. But
they're pretty cheap on this site. I stock up!

Not as sleek as the Safari,..., February 9, 2012
By topfuel1471
Not as sleek as the Safari, but it's the same feed and nib. Writing is
characteristic of -and identical to- all other Lamy fountain pens. They are
utilitarian pens meant for everyday and student use, and they fill that need
well. The Nexx is great step up from plastic fountain pens like the Preppy pens
while having a more fun aesthetic than the Safari.

This just wasn't what..., February 9, 2012
By RoysterSB
This just wasn't what I expected. True, one of the photos does show that this
is a thumb-sized sharpener. And, true, the name and description do say this
sharpens 5.5 mm leads. But what you don't realize until you get it is that it's
tiny, and no regular pencil fits it.
(http://www.jetpens.com/E-M-Pencil-Lead-5.5-mm-Graphite-HB-Pack-of-6/pd/7360 is
the lead fits into a lead holder) It is beautifully smooth and shiny, but
useless for the casual pencil user's needs.

Works great, not too wet so should avoid bleed through on most paper, and can
easily layer the color as needed. I do not believe it is refillable. The brush
end is wonderful for how I use this pen because I use it to draw and 'paint'
embellishments on otherwise plain greeting cards. I'm unable to describe how
the different highlighter colors work when applied on top of each other because
I don't want to risk staining the brush tips with a foreign color.

Not the fire-engine red..., February 9, 2012
By lol...
Not the fire-engine red I was looking for hence the -2 stars (I really was
hoping for a fire-engine or lipstick red.). I own several Lamy Safaris --
combination of good price and works great right out the box. Usually I find
Lamy to be a wet writer especially in the M nib compared to Japanese FPs in M.
The red body color of this pen is darker than I wanted, perhaps with a hint of
orange (?) in this northerly (Chicago) winter morning light. Other than the
body color not being what I hoped for, I love the function of all my other Lamy
Safaris (charcoal, white, pink, etc :). You can really have fun trying other
inks so make sure to get at least one converter.

I own many different..., February 9, 2012
By vit...
I own many different mechanical pencils and I am a collector. I wanted to give
the rotring 800 a try and I bought the 2.0 and the 0.5mm version, both in black
color.
I have to say that the mp is solid and comfortable to use, if you love heavy
writing staff like I do. The weight helps a lot in using a low force to write
and draw nice black lines.
Anyway I can’t give more than 3 stars. Not because of the price, but because
of the retractable tip. I love the idea but not how they made it. The tip seems
to have a little of play, not very stable like other rotrings that I own. In the
beginning I thought that it was a problem of my 0.5 so I made a video and sent
it to other rotring 800 users that I found searching in ebay feedbacks. Most of
them told me that they have the same “problem”. This is not something that
you will easily notice when you write or draw, but from a rotring I expected
more “stability”.
I am more then happy with the 2.0mm version, but I really don’t suggest to buy
the 800 0.5 unless you can try it. I will not return it because, as I said, I
am a collector, but if I had to decide what MP to buy I would go for a rapid pro
or a 600.

I found one of these on the ground one day, picked it up and started using it.
Paired it with an eraser stick and never used anything else for 2 years. Worked
perfectly, slim, no annoying rubber grip, never jammed and tight enough for
basic drafting! Then I lost it, had a hard time finding a replacement till I
found this site, not sold in US apparently. Can not wait for the new one to
arrive.

Elegant eye candy. I have the entire set including the leadholder. Mid weight.
Sleek navy blue finish with with a faint glimmer to the (anodized surface?). The
plating job is perfect. Good clip. Lead advance is just right (little at a time
with a muted click). The grip is excellent on the whole series. Take it easy on
the Staedtlers when you insert or remove the eraser (Dont push it in hard
because the lead storage tube is not brass) Overall a nice group of mech
pencils.

I really love these pencils, ever since I used one in drafting class in
highschool. They are very sturdy, easy to disassemble, and the long tip makes
the pencil very easy to control. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is
because it looks a little homely.
It's not the most stylish pencil, but it'll get the job done.
p.s. These pencils are terrible for colored leads. When I try to use colored
leads in these, the lead ALWAYS breaks.

This is my absolute favorite pen. I picked up a bunch without much consideration
when I lived in Japan a few years ago. After a few months, I realized just how
amazing they were. It was the first time I had ever said to myself, "wow, what a

to find outside of Japan. Not even art supply stores had them. I finally found
them on Jetpens-what a godsend!
They're the best!

By astrowarrior
Knock-style! A loud knock too! I have put a red foam rubber grip on the front
and use it as a sidearm for my Staedtler 925-02. Without the after-market grip,
I'd rate it a 4 because the wood seems to be a little harder and sharp edged
than most wooden pencils. Usually knock-style 2mm leadholders are more spendy,
so this is a must-buy IMHO for drafting/mechanical pencil fanatics.

For $2.50 this is a cute enough lead pointer, but it is no rival to the
reliability or precision of the Uni-ball lead pointer.
Pro: Cheap enough not to break your heart (or bank) if you lose it.
Cons: Sometimes grabs the lead and turns it within the leadholder, and can be
messy if not emptied regularly.

I just got this pink pen
this is so great! it's out of my expectations even better compared with my lamy
alstar ef fountain pen.
why?
1 this pen is easy to use, only need 7 seconds to let ink out of the point
2 the point is easy to write with, not sratch paper, not like my lamy ef point
3 my lamy can't write smoothly when I wrote on thicker paper, but this pen is
much better than lamy. you don't need to push to hard let the point come some
ink.
4 i ordered clear blue for this pen, the ink is so pretty
strongly recommed you buy this pilot petit pen if you need some pen pretty, easy
to use, not cost much

Pro: Great feel, Light,..., February 8, 2012
By evisr8r
Pro: Great feel, Light, Double Tipped, Ink does not bleed on Moleskine or
Cardstock, Comparatively inexpensive, Brush control is easy, treat it like a
brush and it will behave like a brush.
Mid: Ink is not dark, feels like diluted black watercolor this can be a pro or
con, shows pen lines below ink with one coat.
Con: May take a few passes over a certain area to soak every fiber and obtain a
pure black, but depending on the use this may not be a con
I can't speak for ink capacity, I've only done a few heavy sketches with it so
far with no complaints, but I would think this will run out quickly if you're
looking for an immediate black and have to go over an area multiple times.
Overall this is a nice sketching brush pen but I would choose something maybe a
little darker for your final pieces unless you want a sketchy feel.

This pen provides a quality..., February 7, 2012
By jcfree4526
This pen provides a quality nib for the price. However, it may not be as solidly
constructed as others in its price range. I was initially intrigued with the
Clear Candy when I saw that they made a clear-body version, hoping I could
convert it to an eyedropper. Unfortunately, the barrel is not airtight. While it
is possible to seal it, I’m just not sure I want to go through the trouble and
possibly ruin the pen.
The pen came with a Sailor cartridge and inked up quickly, though a little ink
seeped out of the feed. I am impressed with Sailor ink. With it, the Clear
Candy lays down a consistently even and dark line. Only time will tell about the
construction of the pen. It doesn’t look like it will take much abuse. For a
more durable pen that is an equally good writer, I recommend the Rotring Surf or
perhaps Sailor’s other entry-level pen, the HighAce Neo.

By the...
Ever since I've been retroverting back from typing on a laptop for the past 5
years to writing notes using a pen and paper, I've been on a quest to find a
"fabled" good pencil. In the recent months I've been using some Ohto, Zebra,
Pentel pencils purchased from Jetpens or in the stationary section of Japanese
stores around me. After reading on how well-weighted, balanced and
well-constructed Rotring pencils were on various reviews I decided to jump on
the wagon and try a few of them out. After a few weeks with the 800, 600, and
500 I must say the one I end up using the most is the 500. Why? The 500 is
solidly-built despite the plastic body and I find the weight balanced superior
to the Pentel Graphgear 1000 (my previous favorite). At the end of the day I can
write more without fatigue due it being lighter than the 600 and if someone
decides to steal it...at least they didn't steal my 600 or 800 that I intend
keep strictly at home.

This is the first other-than-black ink that I use, and it's among the first J.
Herbin's ink that I own, too. Based on that, the 5 star rating may seem
overrated, but I'm so happy with it, so there.
I call this a happy hue, which makes me want to write all day long, with which I
want to record all my sweet, happy memories. I had a hard time deciding between
this one and Rouge Bourgogne, and I finally settled for this as it leans more
towards magenta - which is one of my favourite hues.
It flows well from my Lamy AL Star, which is already a smooth writer (M nib).
Both qualities combined simply make writing by hand a truly joyful experience.

By kla2business
I LOVE my orange highlighter.
It writes like a champ. It use it the most of any in my set, and yet it hasn't
dried out yet. It erases COMPLETELY. I wouldn't settle for anything less. I
keep them on my desk in the original plastic package - the erasers stay clean so
I haven't had any problem with that.
It is worth taking a peek at your eraser if you carry it around in a purse or
backpack. If it has gotten dirty, erase on some scrap paper until it comes
clean again. It will smudge your paper if you use it when the eraser is dirty.

The purple is too dark to read most text thru easily. I have the same problem
to a slightly lesser degree with the blue.
Pink and green have dried out for me repeatedly. I've gone thru 4 of each pink
and green, while my orange and blue and purple and yellow keep going like
champs.
The ORANGE is awesome. And all of them erase like a dream - fully and
completely. I LOVE this eraseable line of pens. Every one I've tried

I have purchased 3 or 4 EACH of these highlighters in pink and green, as well as
every other highlighter color in the set. For some reason, every single pink
and green ones goes dry very quickly. I use orange the most, so it's not
because I use pink and green more. It's weird, cuz it's consistently been the
pink and green ones out of 3 or 4 tries.
Has anyone else run into this?

This paper is a total..., February 5, 2012
By Robynsnest
This paper is a total treat to write on. I use fountain pens and I have not
experienced any bleedthrough or feathering and I'm using both sides of the
paper. The size of this book is about as close to perfect as you can get. Fits
in my purse so I can carry it wherever I go for quick notes and journaling but
big enough that it doesn't feel cramped when writing in it.

I just received my journal..., February 5, 2012
By Robynsnest
I just received my journal and really love it. I've used several types of
journals and paper including moleskine and rhodia and honestly prefer the paper
in this. This is now my go to journal. I use fountain pens (Cross, Lamy, and
Pilot Prera) with multiple ink brands (Noodlers, Waterman, J. Herbin) and the
paper is wonderful with all these pens and inks. The cover is soft and supple
but plenty stable. It's a joy to write in. It just begs you to pick it up and
start journaling. I purchased the plain and grid notebooks (only because the
lined was out of stock) and can honestly say the paper in both is just a treat
to write on. I want to buy more of these now. I'm just trying to figure out how
I will justiy the purchase of another :)

The PG5 is the real deal...., February 4, 2012
By ohnobees
The PG5 is the real deal. It's the sort of no-nonsense drafting tool that would
have been used to design the Viking Mars landers or the Voyager space probes.
The advance mechanism and nosepiece are identical to the p205, but everything
from there up is distinctly higher-grade and arguably worth the premium. The
magazine tube is metal, about 3mm in diameter, and is securely stabilized on the
top end by a snug, threaded plastic collar, to which is threaded the machined
aluminum top piece, which retains the advance button with its long cleaning
wire. No eraser, but come on, have some self respect and carry a quality click
or block eraser. This is more Sharp Kerry grade than P205, though they all use
essentially similar (and quite deservedly praised) mechanisms. The
vintage-pencil nerd in me adores the old-fashioned "GRAPH PENCIL" stamped into
the side of the barrel. The PG5 is well worth the price, and probably the best
Pentel available from this retailer.

Exactly what I needed. The Style Fit pens are a dream to write with. I was
worried this wouldn't be the right color, but it is indeed the dark blue black
I've grown to love. Writes smoothly, awesome color, is packaged neatly and
safely, easy to replace. No complaints.

flows smoothly and nicely, no breaking! i will definitely buy more colors of
this pen :) it's just amazing !

I really like this case!..., February 3, 2012

I really like this case! It looks very classy and is nice and compact. It is not
too heavy so it does not weigh me down. The only problem I have with it is that
I like to have the clips on my Kaweco pens, and two pens do not fit well with
clips on. They fit with clips but it is very very tight.

This is my first fountain..., February 3, 2012
By WagThatTail
This is my first fountain pen beyond the cheap Zebra ones.
The tip is super smooth and the flow is nice. It also looks really lovely, it's
great to pull out at the counter and gets comments.
My first complaint is that it's super light; Lighter than most cheap
disposables. The lack of any heft makes it feel cheap to me thought through when
testing it out for two days it's quite sturdy
The biggest problem in my opinions is that it skips frequently (average once a
sentence) when the tip hits the paper, sometimes almost for a whole letter,
irregardless of the paper I use. From my moleskines, to the cheap printer paper
in my office, to card stock it just keeps skipping. My Zebra didn't skip. I've
tried increasing my pressure until the tip flexed and then going back to light
gentle strokes and it still does it. This would be a 4 star pen if it wrote
consistently but the constant skips ruin the whole experience for me.
I'll keep this around because it's portable, nice to show off, and is decent for
a quick jot but I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my first fountain..., February 3, 2012
By chrisbroy
This is my first fountain pen, and I love it. I have a dip pen at home to write
at my desk but using this pen in my EDC is fantastic! I don't have the problem
of the cap rattling and I don't mind the scratches and nicks in the paint. I
actually really like the look I have now with the scratches. I get compliments
all the time and I'm always asked where I got such a fantastic looking pen.
Everyone thinks I spent hundreds in a vintage shop. Looks aside, I was looking
for a pen I could carry that writes like my dip pen and this one is even better
than I hoped. I know there are more expensive, and cheaper, but for the price
point, quality, and all around usefulness, this pen can't be beat.
I'm going to try the extra fine nib next but I doubt it will write as smooth.

Wonderful little pen!..., February 3, 2012
By pictogramax
Wonderful little pen! Smooth writer, well made, great click-closing. A converter
can be used, it's easy to dismantle and clean and even the nibs can be exchanged
with 78G and Penmanship, if you happen to have those. Works without problems but
Penmanship is a better match (as 78G has gold plated nib). On top of all that
functionality, Prera is a beautiful pen, at least to me it is. My daily writer.

refill since I only like blue ink but i can't seem to change it. I tried
pulling it apart but it was a struggle and now i can't seem to put it back. I
am really upset and waiting for customer service to contact me.

By vietphoo
I had been using the Staedtler triplus fineliners for about two years now, but
my pens were running low on ink and I thought I'd time I replace them.
Unfortunately the Staedtler had risen in price since I had last bought them and
I thought I'd switch to something a little cheaper.
The Stabilo Fineliners are much more vibrant in colors than the Staedtlers.
However, I found that the Stabilos bled through any type of paper I would write
on. So anyone who (likes to save trees) likes to write on the back of the paper,
this is not the pen for you. Anyone else looking for a nice vibrant colors, go
for it! As for me, when I run out of ink, I think I'll be going back to the
Staedtlers =\

Before I received this pencil, my go-to pencil was the GraphGear 500 (0.5mm).
I'll still keep that pencil in my case for back up, but this new one is way
better in my opinion. I prefer smaller lead and it fit my needs perfectly.

I used this pen on and off for one week. Then it dried up and stopped working
all together. I have tried cleaning it. I've made sure that the ink cartridge
was flowing and secured tightly. But nothing worked. It's been more then two
months and the pen still doesn't work.
I would love to hear suggestions to fix this, for myself and for other people
who are thinking of buying this pen. It was a great pen while it worked.

good lead, if you're..., February 2, 2012good lead, if you're wanting to use it for color coding. I would not use it for
drawing, as the lead is very light. I used this on my sketchbook and had to go
over the green a couple of times to make it look dark enough. I enjoy the
orange, blue and red leads a lot more. Still a great functioning lead, just too
light for my taste.

Hacked it successfully..., February 2, 2012
By italimod
Hacked it successfully into a Fisher Space Pen (the Astronaut variety with a
clicker, although refill-wise it doesn't matter). It's a couple of millimeters
too short, though, but it doesn't affect writing per se but it's hard to see the
tip on paper. Truth be told, I bought this refill in attempts to hack it inside
the Coleto multi-pen (due to it being considerably cheaper but virtually
identical), but it wasn't possible easily enough. Writing quality and emptying
speed are practically the same also.

By youngjustice
I was worried when I first got my package because this bag does not look like it
would hold a lot, but wow...it is like the TARDIS. Each of the three pockets,
the main one, the one on the flap and under the flap can hold a ton.
In the main pocket I have about 10 pens and mechanical pencils, a pack of
tissues, a roll of tape, a ruler, and an eraser with some room to spare. The
pocket on the pouch has about 10 pens and mechanical pencils as well. And the
pocket under the pouch has room for all my led, extra erasers, my sharpener and
room for a lot more.
It is a great bag and its large pockets allow you to carry a lot more than just
pens and pencils, while having enough different compartments to keep everything
organized.

I've been using the Kaweco AL Sport with this ink for a few months now and I can
say I'm very pleased. I use it at work and in my personal writing. I find this
color very easy on the eyes, flows well, and seems to not bleed very much no
matter the weight of paper I use.
I have to say that this is the only color I've used with the pen but so far so
good. I'll try another color soon just to see what else I like but so far so
good!

By cai...
I *love* this pen! It's never scratchy, has great ink flow, and is a
delightfully bright color of pink. It took me a little while to get used to how
short it is when posted, but the compact size makes it so much easier to stash
in a pocket (I keep mine in the little MP3 player pocket on my backpack for
quick and easy access). The pen writes to a standard that I've come to expect
from much more expensive pens, and yet I don't have to worry if it accidentally
walks off with one of my students, because it's so affordable, though I
certainly will be keeping a close eye on it, as it's now my favorite writing
utensil. I will be buying more in a variety of different colors so I can keep
one at home, one at work, one in my purse, and one in my backpack at all times.

This is an edit of my..., February 1, 2012This is an edit of my previous 4 star review.
After doing a bit of research and testing other VP products, the converter is
indeed supposed to leave a bit of air, and is working correctly.
I have been using this as my primary writting insturment for months and love it
more every day. The quality is impecable.
The only issue I've had was some minor (I mean just a few drops) leaking when I
flew on 4 different airplanes with a full converter. I would expect this from
such frequent changes in pressure, and now just put it in a plastic bag with a
tissue around the nib end or empty the converter before a flight.

I'll go one further than the others and say that this is the worst sharpener
I've used period. This is not a pencil sharpener, It's a pencil destroyer.
Purchase this if you're having trouble turning your prized artist set into a
nice chunky pile of kindling for starting fires.
If Jetpens lets this review stick... then maybe purchase it to help JetPens out
and get it off their shelf, then see if I'm lying (I'm not).

LOVE this pen! I am very picky about pens. They have to be gel. They have to
be purple. They have to be BOLD. This is one of the few that meets all three
and I love, love, loved it! Very smooth, pearly looking, dries almost
instantly. The only negative thing I can think of is that it didn't last very
long, but most gel pens don't! I will gladly buy again, but it is out of stock!
(guess that also says something about how good it is!)
