These high-quality scissors provide an exceptionally easy and comfortable cutting experience. They feature a distinctive curved upper blade similar to those found in pruning shears. This lets you cut more cleanly while exerting about a quarter of the force you would need to use a pair of conventional scissors. Because the curved edge is longer than the straight edge, it pulls along the surface of what you're cutting, creating a slicing action in addition to the standard shearing action of conventional scissors. ("Hikigiri" is a Japanese term meaning "cutting while pulling.") The scissors were designed with the guidance of expert artisans from Seki, Japan, well known for its high-quality blades and cutlery.

These scissors have roomy handles made of sturdy ABS plastic. A softer lining inside the finger holes keeps them comfortable to use for long cutting sessions.
