Q: Is the nib on this fountain pen replaceable?
While Pilot does not make replacement nibs for this pen, the nibs of the Explorer, Kakuno, Metropolitan, Penmanship, and Prera are all interchangeable. To remove the nib, grasp the nib and feed on the top and bottom firmly and pull straight out.
Q: Are the grip sections of Pilot Metropolitan fountain pens and rollerball gel pens interchangeable?
The fountain pen grip sections will work with rollerball gel pen barrels, but the rollerball gel pen grip sections will not work with fountain pen barrels. This is because the fountain pen barrels have a slightly different interior design and do not hold the rollerball gel pen refills securely.

I already own a White...December 8, 2015Verified PurchaseI already own a White Tiger Medium Nib and loved it but, I thought that a Fine Nib will allow more use of the pen by being able to use it in regular paper; then I bought the Silver Python Fine Nib and corroborated that I can use it in almost any paper without risking ink bleeding through. Jetpens announced the Retro Pop Fountain Pens about a month ago and I was waiting for them, they looked beautiful and I already knew that I enjoyed writing with them, great weight, appropriate size and glide over paper, non skipping flow and great price for the quality. I ordered the Green Marble Fine Nib and the Purple Ellipse Fine Nib and they are just beautiful. Already a co-worker is getting one for Christmas! And I already ordered a Red Wave and Turquoise Dots to add to my collection. I find them practical, great quality and accessible to my pocket. Plus I really appreciate how informative and useful Jetpens.com is, I haven't found another website that provides so useful, relevant, and accurate information on their products.13 people found this helpfulGreat Compromise

Love them so much I intend...December 17, 2015Love them so much I intend to collect the rest! They've even started "pop"ping up among my coworkers, with Christmas around the corner. I can't think of any other reasonably priced pen that behaves so well and looks this good. Kawecos and Lamy Safaris are more than half again the price, and have nothing on the smoothness and easy-to-start nature of the fine Pilot nib. Kakunos are excellent writers at about the same price point, but look and feel like they were made for kids. That didn't stopped me from buying two, but it has resulted in an easy switch away from the Kakuno model now that the Metropolitan line finally came out with designs that don't look like they belong in my grandmother's wardrobe.8 people found this helpfulEmrys

This pen is so pretty,...January 7, 2016Verified PurchaseThis pen is so pretty, and wits so well. I was worried that the fine nib might catch on paper, acc tear it up, but it doesn't! Not even on terrible cheap paper.7 people found this helpfulHarnishMail

Really nice pen. The...May 14, 2016Verified PurchaseReally nice pen. The fine nib is a little finer than I expected, think about a 0.38mm pen, but writes very smoothly for the size. The brushed metal feels nice in my hand and it holds enough ink to get me through a few days in court. Overall I'm really happy with it.5 people found this helpfulalexanderkeane

This is my first fountain...June 1, 2016Verified PurchaseThis is my first fountain pen, but I've been reading a LOT of pen blogs the last few months!! I love this pen, it's surprisingly hefty and clearly very well made. I love the sturdy finish, and the cartridge lasts for a long time. I use this pen for journaling and art, and it works well even on less fountain pen suitable paper. The only problem I had was that it took a bit of fiddling for it to actually start writing. However, the pen came very snugly packaged in bubble wrap and wasn't damaged.4 people found this helpfulCappy
