21 bucks for what's essentially half a pencil? But I lie heavier pens in my hand
and so I thought, okay, you can always refill it with the tons of pencil stubs
or golf course and ikea pencils and so use it as a pencil holder or extender.
And I liked that it came with replacement erasers and you could really carry it
it in your hip pocket for you urban sketching tours.
Turns out the pencils the brass casing holds are fatter than your Faber Castell
or Derwent stubs or what you can nick at ikea or the golf course. So you're
basically stuck with the official Midori refills, which are insanely pricey for
their length. The lead is a bit too soft for my taste, too, but you get no
choice in lead.
On top of hat the clip broke off about a week after I got the thing, so now I'm
the proud owner of a useless brass pencil holder with an ugly hole where the
clip was fastened and a stock pencil that I don't like to work with and that I
can't replace. Conclusion: 21 bucks thrown out the window, I should have gotten
me a dozen Blackwings for that. Oh well.
